Our third consecutive year working with British Gas Energy Trust, we resumed filming across the country to gather testimonials on the energy crisis and the charities on the front line. BGET wanted an updated film to spotlight the continued challenges facing so many, and highlight the funding in place to support charities that help ease the struggle.
Our ever-strengthening relationship with British Gas Energy Trust smooths the way for this annual project. On British Gas’ recommendation, we reached out to selected contacts across four funded organisations and liaised with each charity individually to schedule a road trip of filming across England, Scotland and Wales. Our 2-man crew spent a day with each organisation, capturing interviews with charity workers, volunteers for their associated projects and clients who’ve benefitted from their support. A lot of pre-production time was spent with British Gas Energy Trust, discussing the desired tone and mood of the film, how this would build on previous films and nuances for the messaging to speak to this year’s climate. As such, we decided particular emphasis would go to client interviews as the emotional root of the story and demonstrate the life-altering impact targeted funding can have. Post-production focussed on drawing the personal stories from these client interviews first, building out the wider narrative of support across the UK from there.
