HELIPAD DRONE SAFETY

CAA

Brief

With drones becoming increasingly popular with recreational flyers, the Civil Aviation Authority needed targeted messaging to make novice pilots aware of important safe practise updates, such as changes to legislation around ID registration.

How we achieved it

Straightforward delivery to camera was decided as the best route to clearly communicate these important points. We filmed at two locations, one rural and one urban, over two days. At each location, we captured a variety of short messages with CAA reps and helicopter pilots, scripted to suit 20-30-second social media clips, cut together with b-roll around the helipads.

We created versions in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 to cover CAA’s various social platforms, and subtitles for all edits. In total, we created 15 pieces of content for CAA to push out across social media over a period of months and keep the messaging at the top of people’s feeds. CAA saw their furthest outreach to date with this content, particularly over the Christmas weeks.
