Crash is based on the director’s own experiences of hypoglycemia: a state of extreme low blood sugar, which can cause dizziness and confusion.
Filmed over four days, cast and crew lived on-location for the weekend and shot through the nights to recreate this cerebral experience. Shot on the Arri Alexa 35, the film plays with light effect to imitate the disillusional symptoms.
